For me this is one of the most exciting high-street/designer collaborations! Mary Katrantzou is a pure genius when it comes to mixing different patterns. I would just LOVE to get my hands on one of her designs (,especially the structural dress shown on the first picture!).
The collection will be out in just few days (17th Feb), prices are starting at £40 (which isn't too bad), the dresses however are much more expensive than that (eg. that amazing dress I love so much (pic. 1) will cost £350). Still, I think it's worth investing in one of Mary Katrantzou's beautiful designs.

I've never been a huge fan of Tavi, mainly because of her style. But after I saw the video on BBC I must admit that I simply LOVE this girl! She talks so well about the fashion industry, reminds me a lot of Anna Wintour. Simply amazing!

Here is my most successful sale-purchase! (I was supposed to share photos of these shoes with you about 3 days ago but the weather wasn't too good and I simply couldn't get nice photos). I wanted these shoes for such a long time but I simply couldn't afford them, so you can imagine how happy I was when I found these beauties on sale; half price off, very last pair in the store and they were in my size!

2012 RESOLUTIONS

So as usual I'm struggling with my New Year's Resolution List. I never really know what to put on my list, and once I think of something, I forget about it pretty fast and so I could never keep any of my resolutions. But let's hope that it's going to be different this year!

Here are some of the things that I wanted to do for a really long time and for some reason I haven't done any of them, but, hey! what is the New Year for, right?!
1. Clear my computer and room (!) of all the useless things (read: crap)!
2. Post more, try do write a post every two days if not everyday!
3. Take more pictures, organise more photo shoots! And, um, learn how to use Photoshop properly.
4. (And for God's sake!) Start my portfolio! (After all, I need it to get into my dream college!)
5. Do some DIYs! Many, many DIYs!
6. Make Fashion Philosophy bigger and better!
7. (More of a wish than a resolution) Buy Underground creepers.
8. Start taking street-style pictures!
9. Do some interviews with interesting people and post them on my blog!
10. Make some videos!

YEAR 2011 IN PICTURES

I must say that year 2011 was really good for me! (And I'm hoping that year 2012 will be even better!). I've travelled quite a lot this year, I've been in Paris, London and few places in Poland. At the start of the year I was featured on Teen Vogue web site for the second time, I've been interviewed on "Off the Rails", and Irish TV programme and I did an interview for WSW. Besides that I finally bought a really great SLR camera in January, I did quite few photoshoots and I worked as a backstage photographer for "Off the Rails" as well, and I also had my very first article published in Motley magazine in February.
Not too bad, right?!

First of all, I just wanted to apologise for the lack of posts on the blog lately. I've been really busy, there was so much to do in school, and I just tried to balance it all (and I think I have everything perfectly balanced at the moment)!

Now, second of all, I've been thinking of making some big changes on Fashion Philosophy. I'm preparing a new layout which will be published within two weeks. I've also had some really cool post-ideas. I'm not going to reveal all the ideas now so I'm just going to tell you that there will be many photography, inspiration and DIY posts. I've said it before that I don't want this blog to be just a big collection of pictures of my outfits, instead I want this blog to be more like an online fashion magazine. I also decided to write at least 4 posts a week.
So let's hope that all my ideas will work out! And I also hope that you'll like the changes I'm preparing!

It wasn’t just Dominika’s quirky rocker style that caught our eye; it was her incredible crimson red hair too. On her blog fashionphilosophy.net, Dominika shares her musings on fashion, beauty and photography.
Her style is a cosmopolitan concoction as though she’s from Poland and lives in Cork, she admits London is the city that most strongly influences her look. Read on to find out more about Dominika’s style icons and her long list of favourite blogs.

How would you describe your personal style?
- I have to say – Tomboy/London-rock chic – It’s actually pretty hard to describe my style. I love street-style and you would definitely see me wearing something inspired by classic London style, I also love dark and boyish clothes.

What inspires your style?
- Photography, street-style and other fashion bloggers.

Being from Poland but living in Cork, which city do you feel influences you style more?
- It’s actually pretty weird, but I’m not really influenced by style in Poland or in Cork. The city that has the biggest influence on my style is London. I follow many great street-style blogs and I’m always excited to see how people dress over there, their style is really edgy! It’s simply amazing!

What are your favourite current trends, why do you like them and how are you wearing them?
- My favourite trends would have to be Metallics and Dalmatian-print, they’re both really great. And of course I’m also really happy that the blacks are also a big trend right now!

Who are some of your style icons (dead or alive!) and why?
- I don’t really have any style icons; there are just lots of random people whose outfits I love. I do however love the style of Rumi Neely of Fashion Toast and Alice of Alice Point, they’re both amazing!

Name one go-to piece in your wardrobe and tell us why you love it?
- My Zara sequin biker jacket in black. I bought it two years ago and wear it all the time! I try not to wear it too much when taking new photos for my blog but I pretty much always end up wearing it!

What are your favourite places to shop in Cork?
- Definitely Topshop, H&M, River Island and TKMaxx. Especially when they have sales going on! There is a really great vintage shop in the English Market called Miss Daisy Blue; they have the most amazing dresses and vintage jewellery.

What are your favourite fashion websites/blogs?
- I have a very long list of my favourite fashion blogs but here are the sites that I truly love: The Sartorialist, Park & Cube, Alice Point, Fashion Toast, Stitches|Fabric|and Soul, Pale Division, Le Blog de Betty, Vanessa Jackman, Zebra and Meerkat and Sea of Shoes.

Do you have any fashion pet hates?
- I do (quite many in fact)! The worst ones would have to be Crocs and Ugg shoes!

There are so many great trends this year that it’s actually really hard to pick just few! Do tell me what you think of my picks and tell me what are your favourite beauty trends this season!

I simply love buns - low ones, high ones, tight ones, loose ones, twisty ones – I just love them all! My favourite were at Topshop Unique fashion show – they were incredibly cute. And they just looked wonderful will the whole Dalmatian theme.
Mixing trends: Would look great with red lips and/or metallics.

Red truly is the lip colour of this season; from hot orange-red to dark burgundy. My favourite ones were the super-glossy lips at Gucci – so beautiful!
Mixing trends: Would look great with buns, metallics and pony tail.

Probably my favourite make-up trend ever! It’s so amazing, I mean, who wouldn’t want sparkly and magical-looking eyes?! (As I’m just terrible at applying eye-shadows and doing any eye-makeup, I’m just going to go for metallic nails – look just as amazing!).
Mixing trends: Would look great with pony tail, red lips, buns and gothic grunge.

You might know this already but just in case you don’t, here’s (not so) random fact about me – I love black colour, you might even say that I’m obsessed with it. So anyway, I’m super-happy about the whole Gothic Grunge trend. I love the dark smoky-eyes and black lips - prepare to see a lot of that on my blog very soon!
Mixing trends: Would look great with pony tail and metallics.

In my opinion, it’s the greatest hair-do in the world. It’s so easy to do and it looks très chic – and now it’s one of the hottest trends of the season too!

I adore black and white colours and photographs. I think they're just beautiful. Simple, yet beautiful.
You can just imagine how excited I am about this years A/W trends, the blacks, the whites and super-cool prints such as dalmatian or zebra patterns - I love it all! I honestly never felt so excited about any trends before, I will finally be able to wear the clothes that I feel very comfortable in.

"Madonna - The Style Icon" Guest Post by Lucy

Hello..! I'm Lucy from The Bear Necessities, hope you enjoy this post, thanks to Dominika for giving me the opportunity to guest post :)

As Madonna turned 53 last week, it prompted me to google-investigate her style over the decades and of course, the 80's was my favourite Madonna decade (the 00's - not so much). Her look included fishnets, lace tops, crucifixes, leggings, dirty highlighted hair and doc martens.

Madonna was a 1980's style icon, with the whole female teenage population trying to copy her look (so my mam tells me!) and now, in 2011, she still has teens everywhere showing a clear influence of her style, including me! Piles of jewellery, messy hair, a peeking bra - all with a bit of Madonna there.

Little Edie, Big Edie. The ladies of Grey Gardens were a fashionable force to be reckoned with… Women, hidden in their abandoned, derelict mansion, hidden in their furs and silks, hidden by their own love, their own fear.

The movie Grey Gardens (2009) is based on a real life documentary about a mother and her grown daughter who became hermits and that chose to hide away from the New York social life in their Long Island home. They lost touch with reality as their wealth and contact with the outside world diminished. However they never seemed to lose touch with fashion. You can see that throughout their lives they were always stylish, fashionable ladies but as the two women age and as their house and mental health decay they make do with what clothes they have. Changing pieces of clothing to work in different ways, swanning around in rich furs, adorning themselves with brooches and silk scarves etc.

I found the movie wonderful to watch and I found the ladies (especially Little Edie) sense of style very inspiring. Not caring of what dress is appropriate, not caring who may see them, dressing up to nines because they can, because they simply had nothing better to do.

Living alone could wreak havoc on your mental state but can also loosen ones inhibitions, make ones style more free…

Become a recluse, have fun and become daring!

I spotted this girl at the midnight premiere of the last Harry Potter movie. Her name is Alice and she's a fashion designer. This beautiful white cape she's wearing was designed by her and it was also worn by Florence Welsh. Isn't it amazing?! I fell in love with this cape when I saw it at the "Off The Rails" fashion show at Mahon Point in Cork.

A quick post to answer your questions about my make-up. I usually use four or five products everyday and I try to look natural, but during the weekend I like to go crazy with my make-up!

What I use:

Clinique Even Better foundation, it's very light and stays on for a really long time!

Clinique airbrush concealer, it's very easy to use and just a tiny bit will cover anything.
Exceptionnel de Chanel mascara, it's the most amazing mascara I have ever used! It lasts for ages, it's easy to apply plus it had an amazing brush!
Dior eyebrow pencil with brush, easy to use and it has a really great brush.
Yves Saint Laurent blush, feels really great on your skin and it also smells very beautiful!
Lady Gaga for MAC lipstick, it's very creamy and (!) moisturising.
Lancome juicy tubes lip gloss, smells great and it stays on for a long time!
Agatha Ruiz De La Prada lip balm, it has an amazing smell and it's so moisturising!
Topshop nail varnish, I really love the silver one. Iuse it all the time, it's pretty and it last for about 5 days.

INTO THE WILD 
Back once again - but this time it's far beyond fall's basic leopard prints. Animal's shapes and prints, feathers and safari and jungle themes are the biggest hit of spring/summer 2011.

SPIKY PUNK
Break all the rules - this spring and summer masculine meets feminine. Spikes, studs and leather are back. Mix and match bright coloured clothes with tomboy-tough accessories!

70's
Less than desirable now, retro bohemian shirts, wide-leg pants and floor-grazing skirts will be very popular this summer.

COLOURS AND PRINTS
Neon colours and vivid prints are coming back this summer. Houses from Miu Miu to Loewe created beautiful collections by playing with different prints and patterns. Don't be afraid to experiment with your look this spring!

LACE GAMES
This spring we'll see a lot of lace and crochet on the high-street. If a full body lace is too sophisticated for you, try something more feminine or go for lace accessories.

Junk Couture - Inspirations

Junk Couture is a fashion design competition for young people in Ireland, you need to create outfits using only recyclable materials. I've been working on designing few outfits for the past two weeks and now I just need to sew everything together! I really can't wait to show all the outfits I designed for this competition to my Art teacher and pick the best pieces to send over to Buncrana!
I wanted to create the outfits in structural form and also add some florals to the clothes and accessories, below you can see some of the pictures that inspired me the most when I was designing all the clothes and accessories for the Junk Couture competition. (The deadline of the competition is in December so I will post pictures of all the outfits at the end of December or start of January!)

I found this Laetitia Rosa faux fur coat in a local vintage/swap shop. I was so happy to walk out of the shop with this beauty in my bag! As I mentioned in my last post, I was actually going to pair my faux leather pants with this coat but instead I wore my very favourite H&M pants. By the way, last week I customised those pants with some safety pins, and I'm very happy with the result!

The Last Day Of Summer

I can't believe that summer is already over! It just went so fast! I started school two day ago and I was very happy to see all my friends again. I have few new subjects such as Accounting or Mini Company (by the way, Mini Company is so much fun!). And I'm also starting my work experience in Lush next week. I can't wait! Also, because I'm in fourth year now, there will be plenty of different events during the year, I'm so excited about that! Many of the events will definitely be very interesting!

New Hair

Yes, I'm not blond anymore! I really like my new hair colour but to tell you the truth, I hated it at first! Just after dyeing my hair, the colour didn't turned out ginger but orange! Thankfully, the colour is now gingery. Now, I'm just thinking of a new haircut (and I really have no idea what kind of haircut I would really want!).

Besides these hairstyles, I really love the pink and very colourful hair which you can see in Summer Inspirations: Fashion - Part I and II. I'm actually thinking of buying a ping wig! It just looks really great and fun!
Well, I have to try some new hairstyle, I'm quite tired of my yellowish hair and that's why I'm dyeing it today! See, when I was born, I had ginger (and very curly) hair, I would love to have hair like that again! I always liked Miu Miu but not just as much as I do now. I love everything from their new collection. I especially love the sparrow and cat print on shoes and clothes, they look so adorable that you can't resist them! I would love to have few pairs of the sparrow-print pumps, I was just thinking if they will be still available this summer in Miu Miu stores. I'm going to London, Berlin and I might go to Paris as well this summer so I'll go visit few Miu Miu shops and try to buy at least one pair of their amazing shoes (all I need is spare €400).

Hello my darlings! I'm sorry that I didn't write any post for such long time but I'm back now and I have lost of things to share with you guys. The past 3 weeks were really busy. I had Homec cookery exam (which surprisingly went really well!), also lots of practical cookery classes and lots of homework. I was working on my Art project as well, it has to be finished for this Thursday and I still have few pictures to draw. Tomorrow, I have Art exam too, there are two parts of an Art exam - object drawing and portrait. I really hope that everything will be just fine.
Every Friday I was just so happy because of the weekend, I thought that my mom will take some pictures of me to post on the blog but we both didn't have time to do that! I had Art classes and Photography course every weekend and my mom was working.
Last week it was Cork Fashion Week. I saw High-street Fashion Show (I loved the way the stylist mixed the high-street brands together and created unique looks) and I was also helping out backstage at Boutique Fashion Show. The Boutique Fashion Show was really great, I met some really fantastic people! The clothes were great, I especially loved the Vintage collection from Miss Daisy Vintage shop (I really can't remember the name of the shop so I'm sorry if the name is completely different!), the clothes from this shop were just so amazing, truly magical. My mom and I are going to see this shop this Saturday, can't wait!
This weekend there was two birthday parties of my best friends as well. Both parties were really fun! And as speaking of birthdays, just yesterday I looked at my calendar and realised that this Saturday, 8th May it's the first birthday of my blog! I really have to celebrate this, don't you think?! I can't believe that this time just went so fast, I still feel like I have just created my blog about a month ago! But I have to say that I'm very grateful that I made so many lovely friends during the last year and that I have so many great followers! Thank you very much guys for being with me and supporting my blog!

I really should go now, I have to do those last pictures for my Art Project and I'll also try to upload pictures from the Boutique Fashion Show this week. Bye for now!

See-through clothes, I really don't like it when you can see other people's lingerie.

Why did you start your blog?
I've been following fashion blogs for a very long time so I thought why not create a fashion blog of my own?!

How would you describe your style?
I think that my style is changing from time to time but I have to say that I'm never tired of clothes in Rock 'n' Roll style.

What is one thing you are dying to buy this spring?
Military jackets and maybe something in nude or beige.

What is the most expensive thing you have bought?
A black sequined biker jacket from Zara and my new Bershka shoes. I payed 50 euros for each item which still is not that much, I don't really like to spend a lot of money on clothes.

What is the least expensive thing you have bought?
I really don't know! I have a lot of clothes from charity shops but there is one item in my wardrobe that was actually really cheap but is worth a lot of money - my 90's Moschino jacket, I bought it on eBay and payed only 30 euros for it!

What is your favourite vacation destination?
To be honest, I've never really been anywhere, although, this year my parents and I are planning a trip across Europe, I'm so excited!

90's Moschino Jacket

I bought this Moschino jacket last week on eBay. I'm truly obsessed with it! It's so beautiful and unique. I payed about 30 euro for this jacket which I think is really cheap for 90's Moschino piece. I wore it with blue Zara t-shirt and chain bag, black H&M skinny pants, my new Bershka shoes (which I love very much as well!) and Awear sunglasses.
Tonight, I'm going to see the Talent Show at my school, can't wait! Also, I have only two more school days and then two weeks of Easter holidays, yay!

The Chipmunk concert was so amazing! I had a really great time with my friends, Megan and Amy. The most unexpected thing was that Chipmunk touched my hand and he actually looked at me for more then 10 seconds! I was so excited!

Yesterday, I went to the town with my friends to see Flash Mob. It was amazing! I will upload some pictures this week. Later, I went shopping with my mom and then we went to the airport with my aunt. My aunt came for a visit last week and she just left yesterday. I already miss her!
Also, I wanted to apologise to my readers that I wasn't posting anything for quite long time. You won't believe how busy I was for the past 2 weeks! There was so much going on at school! I'm still going to be really busy this week. I have practical cookery exam on Wednesday so I have to stay at school till 4 p.m. and school on Wednesdays is always over at 1 p.m. I (finally) have to finish my poster for my Art project. I'm going to the concert on Friday night, then I have drawing classes on Saturday morning. Possibly photography course during the weekend and I was supposed to meet one girl to talk to her about photography. I think that's it but I'm not so sure. I just hope that I will find time for blogging.
